Network Installation

The University of British Columbia has one of the most advanced IT networks in North America. There are more than 100,000 data ports at over 400 buildings at UBC. The majority of building data ports are linked at speeds of up to 1,000Mbps and most buildings are linked at speeds of up to 10Gbps. A number of buildings are currently being upgraded to 40Gbps links to the overall campus network.

UBC IT provides complete network design and installation for any UBC building or department. UBC Connectivity Infrastructure can supply IT Project Management, IT cabling, network equipment and wireless equipment to provide full end-to-end network connectivity in either a “new” install situation or an upgrade to an existing network situation.

All network installations are unique so please contact us for a price estimate and to answer any of your questions.
