*DS Support Status

Pre-productionThis version is not yet supported by Desktop Services due to software availability and/or pending compatibility testing with UBC standard services (PILOT).
Active (Default)This version is supported by Desktop Services. It will be the default version for newly acquired/built machine or OS upgrade.
Active

This version is supported by Desktop Services.

Note: Recommended for older macOS that has hardware compatibility limitation to upgrade to DS supported latest macOS version.

Phasing Out

This phase typically will start about 6 months before vendor EOL. Starting this time DS support is actively working to upgrade this outgoing OS to current Active & Default version.

Note: Apple historically never published official EOL dates but typically provides security updates for the current release of macOS as well as the previous two releases.

End of Life (EOL)This version is no longer fully supported by Desktop Services (DS). Software support will be dropped from any asset running this version. Other levels of support may be dropped as circumstances warrant. A variant from CIO office is required in order to maintain an asset running this version past the End of DS Support date and Desktop Services is not responsible for the wellbeing of the device.
